It is shameful that the House of Representatives passed a bill that is straight out of the well-worn authoritarian playbook. The Senate must ensure that this bill to dismantle fundamental freedoms does not move forward or become law.
This vote was proof of a permanent rupture in the once unquestioning bipartisan support for the Israeli government’s atrocities against Palestinians and a critical step toward ending the flow of lethal weapons to the Israeli government.
To end this regional war and stop the ongoing and horrific Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, the U.S. government must immediately change course.
